Attractions and things to do in Bangkok

The heart of Southeast Asia never sleeps, there is always something to do. Over 400 temples, museums, the grand palace, party or even shopping. I'd say Bangkok is a city with thousand and one possibilities. Of course some things you should have certainly done or seen :
  • A boat trip or cruise on the Chao Phraya River
  • Khaosan Road : famous for backpackers
  • Grand Palace with the giant Buddha
  • Massage : of course !
  • Crocodile farm : 30 km's outside Bangkok
  • Floating Market : a traditional way of selling fruits and vegetables

Nightlife : party time !

You haven't seen Bangkok without the bar scene. One would know that there is a lot of adult entertainment, but besides that there is a lot more : Ladyboys-shows (performance by transvestites), regular pubs, pool and snooker places, awesome disco's and clubs. Clubbing is really diverse and it's spread open in the city.

For clubbing : Khaosan Road, Sukhumvit, Silom or even Ratchadapisek ; in these areas you will enjoy the party life Bangkok has to offer. For GoGo-bars (read: adult entertainment, strip clubs, etc.) you can go to Patpong, Nana Plaza or Soy Cowboy. Of course there are many more but those are the major areas.

Endless Shopping

Endless shopping is possible, Bangkok even has a night market. You can negotiate with the shopkeepers abou the price. Shops stay open till late at night, always ready to sell you some nice souvenirs or some delicious food.

Spicy Food

Talking about food, the food in Thailand is spicy but it's a fresh cuisine. Blame it to the chilies, often used in Thai cuisine. Spicy, hot food has some health benefits, such as clearing the sinuses and fight off illnesses. Most famous are Thai curries, which are made with fresh vegetables, coconut milk, some lemograss and basil. Delicious!
